Our schools are currently closed. We remain open between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, for children who are identified as vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the COVID-19 response, as defined in government documentation.

Following a rise in COVID-19 cases in Weston-super-Mare and the precautionary closure of local A&E provision, Trustees have decided to delay the wider reopening of ELAN schools to children in Preschool, YR, Y1 and Y6 by one week.

This will be reviewed by trustees on 4th June. Confirmation of specific year group opening dates, times and procedures will be conveyed to parents and carers following this review.

Windwhistle Primary School

We are a caring, supportive school where all staff work as a team with parents, governors and others to ensure the children grow into confident learners. Our motto is “Achievement by Building Confidence” and we aim to achieve this for our children in all areas of school life. Every child is nurtured academically, socially and emotionally to support their development. We believe that children learn best through “doing”; we arrange visits to places to enable them to have first-hand experience of areas of the curriculum such as History and Geography. We also have regular productions from theatre companies so that the children can enjoy live performances of drama and music.
