School closures

Due to the forecast severe heat, the following schools will be closed all day on Wednesday 24 June 2026 and Thursday 25 June 2026:

• Banwell Primary School
• Bournville Primary School including nursery and preschool
• Locking Primary School including nursery and preschool
• Mead Vale Primary School
• Mendip Green Primary School
• Milton Park Primary School
• Oldmixon Primary School including nursery and preschool
• Walliscote Primary School
• Windwhistle Primary School including preschool

The safety of our pupils, staff and families remains our top priority. We understand that these closures may cause inconvenience, but this decision has been made to ensure the wellbeing of everyone in our school community.

Weather can be unpredictable. If conditions improve, we will reassess our position and may reverse closures. We will communicate any changes to our current plans should this be necessary. Rest assured the current situation will be kept under constant review and any updates issued to families as soon as possible.
