  • Locking Preschool at Locking Primary School

    Tue 14 Jan 2020

Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN) is delighted to announce that Locking Preschool is moving to Locking Primary School and will be open to children from 24 February 2020.

Management of Locking Preschool remains with Claire Stirrup alongside her experienced and qualified team and remains independently run, separately to the school management but the move will enable closer working with the primary school.

Having moved from the Parish Hall after an amazing 52 years, the fully inclusive preschool will now be situated within the school site in a purpose built facility specifically designed for early years education and learning. This new large, bright, new facility has free flow into an outdoor learning area where children can take part in a variety of activities such as forest school, growing fruit and vegetables and outdoor play.  As a dedicated preschool facility, children will now be able to have their artwork on display, instilling a sense of pride and achievement.

Having the preschool move onto the primary school site will enable many young children an easier transition from preschool to school at four/five years old. They will already be familiar with the journey to school and may recognise older children and staff as well as the surroundings.

The preschool will be open term time only, Monday to Friday, 9am – 3:30pm. Children and their families looking to join the preschool are welcome to visit and apply. Please email lockingpreschool1@gmail.com or telephone 07810 242330 to arrange a visit and an application form.

Locking Preschool would very much like to thank Locking Parish Council for all of their support over their past 52 year partnership.

We are delighted to be welcoming the preschool to Locking Primary School where the school and can continue working together on young children’s learning and welfare and transition into primary school.
